Support Centre
The Support Centre, which was Aseema’s first project, continues to run non formal education classes every evening. This centre operates out of St. Joseph’s Convent High School and offers children a chance to strengthen their academic foundation. Fun activities to develop language, math and general knowledge are conducted and children work in small groups to receive individual attention. The Support Centre is accessed by about 50 children who are given the encouragement and attention needed to help ensure they stay in school.
The Support Centre also remains our link with children who have completed their schooling and gone on to college. Our young boys and girls who are studying in reputed colleges, doing part time jobs and building careers for themselves remain an inspiration to the other children. We are proud to see some of the Support Centre ‘alumni’ teach in our schools, become entrepreneurs and sell their art or pursue higher education with sincerity and zeal.
