Position: Assistant Teacher – English and Social Studies
Location: Santacruz (West), Mumbai
Reports to: School Head
About Aseema: Aseema is a Mumbai-based NGO that is committed to equipping children from marginalised communities with high quality, value-based education, enabling the development of their limitless potential. We run three municipal schools in Mumbai in partnership with the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM), and one school for tribal children in Igatpuri. Aseema reaches out to 4,400 children living in vulnerable circumstances in urban slums and tribal communities.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- To prepare innovative online lesson plans and teaching aids
- To create assignments in the form of audios, videos and pictures to enhance learning
- To encourage student participation and lead discussions to keep them active and engaged in learning.
- To assess and monitor individual performance to ensure students are keeping up with the curriculum and not falling behind the rest of the class.
- To track attendance and share absentees record
- To maintain close links with co-curricular teachers and to coordinate with Social Worker and Counsellor for the children’s requirements.
- To actively participate in the Parents meeting and provide feedback on the progress of the child to the parents.
- To complete administrative responsibilities assigned on time.
- To give equal attention to children of different abilities in the class.
- To be attentive and observant of the children’s needs.
- To communicate with children in a respectful and positive manner.
- To be flexible, open to change and willing to take on additional responsibilities.
Required Skills and Experience:
- B.Ed. in English and Social Studies with minimum 3- 5 years of relevant teaching experience with Secondary section (Std IX and X).
- Good command over English language is essential.
- Go-getter, young and energetic.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Well versed with recent technologies and applications for Online Teaching.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is self-driven and whose skills, expertise and creativity will help shape our Education programme and make a real difference in the lives of children from marginalized communities.
Position: Curriculum Developer and Trainer (Marathi)
Location: Bandra (West), Mumbai
Reports to: Education Director

Work under the guidance and supervision of the Education Director to:
- Develop manuals that will contain detailed lesson plans/ assessments/ resources for innovative and child centric methods of teaching Marathi
- Train teachers for the respective classes on implementation of the lesson plans
- Observe classes and give feedback to the teachers
- Going forward help in training external clients on the curriculum implementation (may involve travel)
Qualification:
- B.Ed or Masters in Marathi
- Minimum 5 years of experience in school teaching (in a progressive school environment) and/ or curriculum development and training
- Prefer experience of working with children from non-English speaking, multilingual, poor backgrounds
- Proficient in IT skills required for manual creation
Essential:

Responsibilities and Duties: :
Strategic: Goal Setting: planning and management of the entire product portfolio, definition and alignment of the vision of the Product Division with Aseema’s vision, creating the strategy and roadmap, in order to establish the Aseema’s product division as a fundraising channel for Aseema schools.
New Product Development and Portfolio Management: Carry out market scoping, create and present visionary product and design innovations, creation of the business case. Monitor product lifecycle to phase out unmarketable options and maintain optimal inventory levels.
Partnerships, Alliances and Channels: Responsible for strategic partnerships, alliances, channel listings, enhancing omni channel presence and vendor management and lead necessary contract negotiations
P&L Responsibility: Definition, monitoring of relevant KPIs for the Product Division and quarterly, half yearly and annual assessment and reporting on achievements.
MIS and Reporting: Analytics on customer engagement, retention and customer base growth.Analytics on conversion rates, ticket sizes, top selling products and SKUs by channel. Competitive Benchmarking to highlight strategic design and product enhancements.
People Management: Empanel category wise design advisors and work with them to create marketable products and variants. Manage the product team comprising staff, volunteers and interns as applicable. Manage reporting and inter department relationships with a view to increase the effectiveness and productivity of the Product Division.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Degree in marketing, business administration, or similar
- 5-7 years of sales/ business development experience
- Ability to generate revenue and suggesting suitable new products or service offerings
- Good networking skills and excellent written and verbal communication
- Resourceful, with outstanding research skills
Job Vacancy: Alumni Coordinator
As the Alumni Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring that all Aseema alumni are provided opportunities to prepare them for college and career. You will also be closely working with different stakeholders of Aseema schools to enable smooth operations and coordination for all Alumni initiatives.

- Career guidance and support to the alumni when and where needed
- Systematically maintain and update the case studies of the alumni
- Track and monitor on a monthly basis the progress of the alumni
- Make recommendations for monetary support in deserving cases after appropriate review
- Provide assistance with admissions, after SSC or if anybody opting for NIOS, guide them with information regarding the courses, help make their choices with the courses they want to pursue etc.
- Counsel and guide students requiring special emotional support if and when required, including referrals to the school counsellors
- Manage an alumni management platform for the Alumni to network and interact with each other
- Network with appropriate agencies that will provide internships/job opportunities to the alumni
- Organise regular get-togethers of the alumni and also convene monthly meetings with the core members
- Coordinate and organise events for alumni and parents in collaboration with the Resource Mobilisation team
- Any other duties connected directly or indirectly with your work that may be assigned to you.
Key skills and Qualification: :
- 3-5 years of experience in the development space preferably working with adolescents in the aspect of career readiness
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
- Organisational and time management skills
- Highly motivated, persevering, achievement-oriented attitude
- Strong interpersonal skills and flexibility in planning and working with teams and across functions
